Sustainable Hydrogels from Okra Stem Waste for Biosignal Detection and Sensor Technologies

This study explores sustainable hydrogels derived from okra stem waste for use in wearable bioelectronics. By integrating gelatin and succinic acid, the hydrogels achieve enhanced mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and antibacterial properties. They exhibit strong adhesion, high capacitance for sensor applications, and ECG signal acquisition comparable to commercial electrodes, making them suitable for medical monitoring and smart wearables.
